Ronald McDonald House at QEII gives families with an ill or injured child the best gift of all – each other. The House is a warm and supportive home-away-from-home for families travelling to Perth for medical treatment.
Close to the medical facilities of Perth Children’s Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital, this House is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built home. With 47 invitingly furnished guest rooms and well-equipped on-site facilities, it helps make the lives of families just that little bit easier.

Needing to move your family far from home, work, school and your entire support network due to a child’s illness or injury is extraordinarily tough. This home away from home has a wonderful community spirit, where families can connect with other families going through similar experiences.
At Ronald McDonald House at QEII, families have access to an array of facilities and programs to help make each day a little easier.
Facilities include a gym, recreation room with a range of arcades and games, family lounges, laundry, children’s playroom, rooftop garden and a domestic and commercial kitchen.
While families can cater for themselves using the domestic kitchen, we do provide a continental breakfast each morning and a nutritious evening meal for families during their stay.
Play and Learning sessions catering to children of all ages are run Monday to Friday. The sessions help children keep connected to their learning, offer respite for parents, guardians and carers as well as provide an opportunity for families to connect.
This House is offers four different room types, ranging from fully self-contained isolation units, rooms equipped with wheelchair accessible bathrooms, larger spaced rooms and standard rooms.
All rooms are fully furnished with an ensuite bathroom with toiletries and a smart TV.
Laundry facilities are available throughout your stay and are located on the ground floor behind the commercial kitchen.
Located on Level 2 of RMH at QEII, the Bass Family Foundation Learning Centre aims to provide patients and their siblings aged 4-17 years with opportunities to keep connected to their education, whilst also providing parents, guardians and carers with necessary respite time.
Learning Centre sessions are facilitated by a qualified teacher and special needs educator with additional support from RMHC WA’s Ed Head volunteers. Sessions run Monday-Friday, with children participating in a range of activities including science, literacy, art, technology, Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy (PSRN), Personal Development, Health & Physical Education (PDHPE) and more:
We also offer Little Ones Playgroup in the Ground Floor Playroom. Held by RMHC WA’s Family Experiences Coordinator, Little Ones Playgroup sessions are for families with babies and children aged 3 and under run Tuesday-Thursday, from 10-1130am. The sessions are a great chance for parents to meet and connect with other parents staying in the house while their children play and interact under the guidance of the Family Experiences Coordinator.
On the ground floor there is an outdoor play area with play equipment, located off the Dining Room as well as a playroom, with play spaces, toys, a tv and lounge area.
The Recreation Centre is located on Level 3 of RMH at QEII. It contains a range of tabletop and arcade games and a gym. On Level 4 you will find the rooftop garden . This tranquil outdoor space offers seating areas, play spaces and a fairy garden, perfect for unwinding after a long day of appointments.
Please note: children must always be accompanied by a parent, guardian or carer in the House.

Families are provided with lockers to store pantry items as well as cold food storage lockers, these are located on the ground floor near the domestic kitchen facilities.
Ronald McDonald House on Park will offer families supported accommodation nestled amongst the tranquil gardens of St Catherine’s College, a short walk from Perth Children’s Hospital.
RMHC WA’s staff and volunteers are always there to lend a helping hand.

Our primary goal is to provide safe and reliable short and long-term accommodation for families who need to travel away from their homes to receive medical treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital or King Edward Memorial Hospital.
We understand that being away from home for medical treatment can put families under financial pressure. That’s why our accommodation is free for eligible families with ill or injured children or maternity patients.
While our policy is to provide free accommodation, your stay at Ronald McDonald House Charities WA will require you to complete the relevant Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATs) paperwork.
