Ronald McDonald House on Park gives families with ill or injured children the best gift of all – each other. The House is a warm, supportive home-away-from-home for families travelling to Perth for medical treatment.

Close to the medical facilities of Perth Children’s Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital, this House boasts 24 self-contained suites and on-site facilities to help make the lives of families just that little bit easier.

Needing to move your family far from home, work, school and your entire support network due to a child’s illness or injury is extraordinarily tough. Ronald McDonald House on Park has a wonderful community spirit, where families can connect with other families going through similar experiences.

Staying at RMH on Park

At Ronald McDonald House on Park, there are 3 family quiet lounges equipped with couches for parents and play spaces for children as well as plenty of lush green outdoor space.

While families can cater for themselves using their in-room kitchenette, we do provide a free breakfast each morning and a nutritious evening meal for families during their stay served at Ronald McDonald House at QEII.

Rooms

RMH on Park offers self-contained suites. All rooms are fully furnished with an ensuite bathroom with toiletries, smart TV, kitchenette, fridge and microwave.

Meals

While families can cater for themselves using the kitchenette in their self-contained suites, we offer a continental breakfast each morning and a nutritious evening meal for families during their stay.

  • Breakfast consists of cereals, pancakes, toast, preserves, fruit as well as tea and coffee facilities
  • Our commercial chefs at RMH at QEII take care of dinner, offering a range of nutritious and delicious meals each night.

Just a short walk from this House is RMH at QEII. Families staying at RMH on Park are able to access an array of services and facilities available at RMH at QEII during their stay with our Day Pass program.

Play and Learning

Learning Centre

Play and Learning sessions catering to children of all ages are run Monday to Friday at RMH at QEII. The sessions help children keep connected to their learning, offer respite for parents, guardians and carers as well as provide an opportunity for families to connect.

Recreation Facilities

Ronald McDonald House at QEII offers families even more spaces to enjoy, including a playroom, gym, recreation centre and rooftop garden.

Support During Your Stay

RMHC WA’s staff and volunteers are always there to lend a helping hand.

  • Our dedicated volunteers can be seen at the front desk, are on hand to assist with requirements during your stay, including information on dining services, laundry facilities, weekly activities, and transport arrangements, for your convenience and more
  • Our Family Liaison Officers are on hand to assist families throughout their stays.
  • Our Family Support Coordinators are able to assist families with Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS), managing hospital appointments and travel.
  • Our Wellbeing Coordinator offers one-on-one counselling sessions for both children (patients and their siblings) and their parents, guardians or carers.
  • Our Accommodation Coordinator is available to assist you with your booking enquiries.

Staying with RMHC WA

Ronald McDonald House Charities WA helps families stay together, and close to the medical care they need, far from home. The Houses are a warm and supportive home away from home for families of children travelling to Perth’s Children’s Hospital or King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Rooms can be booked by calling Ronald McDonald House Charities WA. Alternatively you can contact your local Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) office, or your Social Worker.

Who’s eligible to stay?

Our primary goal is to provide safe and reliable short and long-term accommodation for families who need to travel away from their homes to receive medical treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital or King Edward Memorial Hospital.

Fees

We understand that being away from home for medical treatment can put families under financial pressure. That’s why our accommodation is free for eligible families with ill or injured children or maternity patients.

While our policy is to provide free accommodation, your stay at Ronald McDonald House Charities WA will require you to complete the relevant Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATs) paperwork. Our friendly team are happy to work with you to complete this paperwork during your stay. Contact us for further information.
